Welcome to The Bookish Kitchen!

We’re thrilled you’ve come to visit. The Bookish Kitchen is, essentially, a blog about food, books, travel, all that life brings. Here, we share our favorite recipes, books, places to travel, and little snippets from our lives. This is a long time in the making, and we’re so incredibly happy that it is finally happening. You can check out the latest posts by visiting the homepage. Stay tuned because there is so much more coming soon!

I’m Kelly. I’m a self-taught cook and baker, travel enthusiast, and tv-obsessed editor, tutor and writer from the suburbs of Philadelphia.

I grew up in the kitchen next to my mother, who taught me how to make pink applesauce (no food coloring required), and my grandmother, who makes the best mashed potatoes and chicken pot pie (with wide noodles, please, no pie crust). Between my mother and grandmother involving me in the joy of Christmas cookie baking from the time I was six, to my constant Food Network watching from the time it first aired, it was quite clear that I belonged in the kitchen; it is my happy place.

I’m Joe. I’m the resident mixologist and chief taste-tester here at The Bookish Kitchen, and Kelly’s boyfriend.

I’m an architect and am currently pursuing my Masters of Architecture at UPenn in Philadelphia. I love all things nerdy (Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc.) and am an avid video gamer.

We hope you enjoy your time here at The Bookish Kitchen.
