I have assembled 5 writing prompts from around the internet, and I thought I’d share some of them with you if you find yourself struggling with your next story. I have linked to the original post where I was able to:

  1. “Spring is one of the most magical times of the year, as the earth comes back to life after a long winter’s nap. Go outside and breathe in your surroundings. Use what you see, hear, smell, and feel to inspire a poem. What textures do you feel? What scents do you smell? What colors are pushing through the winter bleakness? Write in a style that is different from your norm. Experimentation could lead to a new discovery, and much like the flowers around you, a new writing style may start to bloom.” From The Writer Magazine
  2. “The ghost silently lead the young woman to a long-forgotten room.” From Holloway’s Hideaway
  3. “Your house is on fire. Your family all runs out the front of the house, but you run out the back. When you’re not accounted for by rescuers, you are declared legally dead. You’ve accidentally faked your own death. What do you do now?” From Facebook
  4. “You wake up in a strange room. Write about the events of the night before, as you gradually remember what happened.” I created this one from Writing Exercises’ random scenario generator.
  5. Each week Poets & Writers create new prompts and post them on their website. If you sign-up for their newsletter, you could have them delivered directly to your email!.
